I need the following information from each student:

  1. Your First, and Last Names
  2. Last six digits of your school ID number
  3. Your E-mail address where I can reach you.
  4. You need to put all of this information into this Student Form.
  5. Be sure to write your username and password down in a permanent location.
  6. If you need to change anything click here .
  7. Print out these instructions so you can follow the steps below.
    1. Click on this link studentindex.html .
    2. You need to follow these instructions.
    3. Right click the mouse on the studentindex.html page and select view source.
    4. If you are using Internet Exployer ( IE ).
      • This will load the source file into windows notepad if you are using IE.
    5. If you are using Firefox.
      • Firefox will display the source file which you can't edit.
      • You must select all of the text (use Ctrl +a) then do a copy (use Ctrl +c).
      • From Start menu select All programs-Accessories-Notepad.
      • When notepad opens paste the text into it (use Ctrl+v).
    6. From notepad make the necessary corrections to the file.
    7. In 4 places put your name in place of Student Name.
    8. Then from notepad click File/Save As; in the box Save In select either the 3.5 Floppy(A:) or Your USB Drive if you have neither select the root of the C: drive; in the File name box type the file name as index.html; then click on Save
    9. This will be the basis of your index page which you will upload to your web site.
  8. To open the FTP program which we will use to upload your files to your WEB site click Start-All Programs-Internet Tools-WS_FTP95LE on the school's computers
    1. If you are working from home Download the file WS_FTP LE from http://lmlv.net/WS_FTP.exe onto your USB Drive or your home computer and install the program on your home computer. The file is about 650KBs.
    2. We will use this program to connect to the lmlv.net site to upload or download files to your web site files.
    3. Once WS_FTP95LE program open, click on Connect
      1. Click on new profile and name it ?.lmlv.net where ? is your id letter from your username.
      2. The Host Name/Address is : ?.lmlv.net
      3. The Host Type is : Auto detect
      4. The ? is your user name
      5. Your User ID is :'your username ? from section (4-5) above'.
      6. Your Password is :'your password from section (4-5) above'.
      7. You did write both of them down didn't you?
      8. Make sure Anonymous is not checked.
      9. Make sure you click Apply twice.
      10. Now click OK and you should be connected to your web site
      11. If you run WS_FTP95 from your USB drive you won't have to always type this information in.
    4. Select your saved index.html file from the Floppy disk, or the USB Drive or the C:\ drive and upload it into the httpdocs folder.
    5. To open the httpdocs folder double click on it twice
    6. To go to the root of the C:\ drive double click on the green uparrow twice
    7. You upload by clicking on the right pointing arrow.
  9. Now go to the Class CIT 151 home page at http://cmlv.com//index.html and check the roster for your name and click on your site
  10. If you have any problems go over the steps again.
  11. If every thing is OK then click on the Class Log In.
  12. You should then see that you have 10 points when you click on Points Earned.
